About this ritual
Sambrani cups are a self-igniting format — natural benzoin resin pressed into a small charcoal cup that lights in seconds and fills a room with thick, fragrant smoke. Traditionally lit to welcome a new baby home, mark a housewarming, or simply clear the air after a long day, these cups are one of the most loved rituals in Indian households. Each pack contains 6 cups.
How to burn
Place a cup in a heatproof dish. Light the top edge directly with a matchstick or lighter until it catches — it will self-ignite and smoulder on its own for 8–10 minutes, releasing thick fragrant smoke. Keep away from children and pets while lit.
